Adding energy to services

11 July, 2009

Markstone Group has appointed an energy expert to its growing team of Associates.

Liz Aitken is one of Australia’s most experienced advisers in energy and carbon related issues and has already provided advice and prepared necessary documentation for a number of clients wishing to commercialise green technologies.

Over the next six months she will have a number of different focuses, including keeping a finger on the pulse of the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme (CPRS) legislation.

“I will be ensuring that when the CPRS legislation is passed in parliament, in whatever form it is in, Markstone Group clients will be ready to deal with the impact of carbon trading on their business,” Liz said.

“This will be on a number of levels, from understanding how much their electricity costs will rise by, to more high-level strategic implementations into their core business.”

Liz is well known in Australia as a results-driven consultant with an eye for detail and determination to add value for clients.

Markstone Group Director Doug Townsend said her appointment was highly valuable for the expanding team and was pleased to have secured a high-end consultant to service the company’s clients.

“Electricity use, carbon issues and energy in general are high priority areas for our clients to stay on top of,” he said.

“Having a high calibre internal resource like Liz truly adds value to our existing corporate structure and services we are already providing in the areas of government and public relations.”

Existing and new clients are welcome to make an appointment with Liz to determine the impact of the carbon trading scheme on business inputs (including electricity prices) or undertake detailed electricity market analysis, risk management and measurement, and commercialisation of technologies in the green energy, or energy efficiency, space.
